Here is motivation to get fit - I want to be a traceur :(
If you look carefully you can see me looking ridiculous in the back of some of the group shots!
Well I started a blog with great enthusiasm right at the beginning of semester, and that turned out to be a silly move. I quickly lost time for everything except uni, and it fell by the wayside, but fear not my pretties! I plan to stick around this time. We’ll see how it goes…
I’ve had quite a fun day today, despite doing very little. First up was class, where I feel I’m beginning to catch up at last and we began learning Kanji (一, 二, 三, 四, and 五 to begin with). This was followed by an odd experience at Fed Square while I as waiting for Merv to arrive for breakfast - I was watching this week’s street performer when a young man from Ormond College came up to me and offered to draw my portrait in exchange for something from my bag. A few minutes later I was down some panadol but had recieved my lovely portrait; though as Merv pointed out, the hair really should be the orange part. Alas! Thank you, Peter! After this we went for late breakfast in the city and finally caught up after his vacation. Being the sweet guy he is he brought me a souvenir; a German pen in the craziest case I have ever clapped eyes on! I’ll get some pictures of this device up soon! After lunch wash finished I strolled down to Flagstaff Gardens where Dave picked me up, took me home to pick up my computer, and then back to his house for a good old-fashioned LAN. Dave, Paul, Cori and I then spent from around 4pm until 3am playing Alien Swarm and Left 4 Dead; while I had a lot of fun, I’m absolutely stuffed. Time for bed!

I finally achieved ‘Little Rocket Man’ and ‘Neighbourhood Watch’. Hooray!
Jules just introduced me to something wonderful.
They say that change is as good as a holiday, but right now the changes in my life are kind of like the Lethal Weapon ride at Dreamworld - I’m scared, everything is happening so fast, and I’m worried I’m going to lose a shoe.
Today I resigned from my job at the bank in order to attend university next week - definitely a beneficial move long-term, though one that will be severely hampered by my lack of income. This leaves me terrified, very excited and enthusiastic, all at the same time. The next week of uni should be a very telling time for me - I’m sure I’ll love every moment, but fitting back in to the student lifestyle is going to be very difficult. It has been eight years since the last time I studied; I honestly don’t know if I have it in me any more. The laxity with which I have been studying my Japanese is not an encouraging example to go by.
For tonight, I’m trying not to think about all of that, and just actually do some actual study so that I’ll be slightly less lost in class tomorrow. Wish me luck!
NB: our example sentence form class could not be more apt this week: わたしは おかねが ほしいです。
